This crypto weekly recap covers a rough stretch for the Bitcoin week in question: sentiment cooled, most large caps closed lower, and the broader market lost ground. Still, a handful of smaller assets managed to post standout gains against the trend.
What happened
- Total crypto market capitalization fell 3.84%, slipping from roughly $2.92 trillion to $2.81 trillion.
- Bitcoin declined 3.33% to $81,060. Ethereum dropped 6.69% to $2,366.41, BNB lost 5.83%, and Solana fell 8.84%.
- The pain was sharper elsewhere among large caps: Zcash fell 13.86%, Hyperliquid lost 11.20%, Dogecoin declined 11.03%, and XRP dropped 10.81%. Monero bucked the trend with a 10.48% gain, and TRON edged up 0.54%.
- Quack AI led this week's crypto performance with a striking 327.83% rise. Anvil gained 72.06%, Pearl added 49.93%, Bitway advanced 31.74%, and Provenance Blockchain rose 27.34%.
- Starknet was the week's steepest loser, down 49.41%. Useless Coin and Pons each fell just over 30%, while Pump.fun and Raydium declined 28.63% and 26.63%, respectively. The Fear & Greed Index, a gauge of investor sentiment ranging from extreme fear to extreme greed, moved from 69 (Greed) to 53 (Neutral).
What to watch next week
- Large-cap stability: Keep an eye on whether Bitcoin can hold steady after closing at $81,060, and whether Ethereum, XRP, and Solana keep lagging behind.
- Sentiment direction: The Fear & Greed Index averaged 58.9 for the week but trended lower as the days passed. A further slide would confirm that risk appetite is still fading.
- Altcoin follow-through: Quack AI and this week's other top gainers face a real test after such sharp moves, while Starknet, Useless Coin, and Pons remain exposed to further volatility.
